In looking at the lives of Rebekah and Isaac, we notice two things.

In Rebekah, we see audacious faith (Genesis 24:55-58). In agreeing immediately to marry Isaac, she displayed boldness to step into a territory and relationship wholly unfamiliar to her. This kind of confidence is developed by trusting wholeheartedly in God and discerning and believing in the people directed by God.

The second thing we notice is the spirit of Isaac. The Scripture says that Isaac dwelt beside Beer Lahai Roi (24:62; 25:11). It was a place southwest of Beersheba, and about 12 miles west from Kadesh-barnea. He used to spend time in this remote place to meditate. Perhaps in his meditation he wrestled with and pondered the nature of the God who provided a sacrifice in his stead when Isaac trusted him and his father. The name Beer Lahai Roi means "the well of him that liveth and seeth me." This is the same well where the Lord met with Hagar several years back (Genesis 16:7-14).

The result of such audacity and risk, meditation and prayer, kept Isaac and Rebekah in the center of God’s will. The events of their lives unfolded in a manner that was clearly God-directed. God Himself prepared Isaac and Rebekah for each other. God opened Rebekah’s womb at the utterance of Isaac’s prayer. Isaac’s absolute trust and Rebekah’s literal journey of faith were rewarded greatly.

So, let’s ask the Lord to develop Isaac’s trust and Rebekah’s faith in our own spiritual journey. Let us develop bold faith and make bold prayers in the days to come and see doors of miracles opened.
