The residence we live in is armed with security alarms. When something goes wrong, the alarm goes off and we immediately dial 911.
The emergency situation could be medical, fire, break-in, or anything similar. According to the type of emergency we are in, the appropriate rescue team will arrive and help us.
In a similar way, the believers are the change-agents for God and prayer is the dialing code (like 911) to contact Him for help. When He is contacted, either He comes for our rescue or sends His rescue team (either angels or other fellow-believers) to rescue us.
We use this code only when we are in dire danger and our enemy is stronger than we are. The reasons why we call God for help: He promised His help to us (Psalm 91:14-16) and only He is able to deliver us from certain dangers, like life-threatening situations, diseases, evil powers, or even death (Isaiah 37:36).
Pray for our safety and the safety of others!
