Prayer Saves Lives (Continued)

Jonah disobeyed God for a while (Jonah 1). When he was running away from God and boarded a ship to Tarshish, God sent a violent storm that threatened to wreck the ship.

Although the sailors cried out to their gods for help, they did not receive any response from their so-called gods. However, when Jonah admitted his mistake and prayed to God (Jonah 2:1-10), the God who created the heavens and the earth, He not only saved Jonah, but his fellow-travelers in the ship. In the end, Jonah admitted that "...Salvation comes from the Lord" (Jonah 2:9).

Jesus Himself set an example for us through His prayer-life. He also taught us how to pray in Mathew 6:5-15.

Let's continue to ask God to help us to lead people to the saving knowledge of Christ.
